oneSafe App Reviews
I had this on 3 devices (an iMac, a Macbook, and an iPhone). It stopped syncing and now I have lost the data on 2 of the devices. Support has been non-responsive. Spend your money for some other app. This was too expensive to quit working and not be supported.
Cooooool
The new user interface is great. It’s simple and efficient to use. I love the new onesafe click!
Excellent but !!!!!
The app is perfect but it is crush when open preferences.
I have been using oneSafe for at least the past year now, and it’s been my “go-to” app when it comes to storing the hundreds of passwords I have on hand! With this newest version, I’m glad they are now at least on par with the competition. I especially like the “oneSafe Click” feature that they introduced in version 2, so that will be a big help when I am logging in to sites, making the experience a little bit easier than having to open the app every time I need a username and password. Although the feature is on your menu bar area, it still is secure, making you type your password or 4-digit code whenever you need to access it, so “kudos” to the makers of oneSafe for putting great thought and execution to the newest version! The cost is well worth it, especially if you have a strong interest in keeping your passwords safe. Its security has kept my 400+ passwords safe for not just me, but also for clients, so I highly recommend this app (as well as the iPhone version).
We have all Apple devices - 2 iPhones, an iPad and a MacBook Pro, with OneSafe running on all devices. The UI is nice and I like the password access options. It is easy and intuitive to add and organize various information that you want to safely store. Import, Export and backup options are nice. Now the bad: we have been syncing using iCloud. Everything is fine for months, but then suddenly our item counts are off across devices. I have audited all devices and one device is missing one or two entries, the next device one or two different entries. They are usually the new entries but not always. I am diligent about backing up every week, so when this happens, I shut down iCloud, restore my database on the Mac, and then rebuild cache on the iOS devices. With the latest release, we’ve lost the ability to force a synchronization which would occasionally resolve an issue. This latest release also added a CloudKit option but this doesn’t work on a Mac. I decided to give up on iCloud synchronization and move to DropBox. When I did that, the app would crash on the iOS devices when I attempted to turn off iCloud. So far, I don’t believe I’ve lost data, but it is time consuming and very frustrating whenever this happens. Moreover, it erodes one’s overall confidence in the integrity of the App. I keep sticking with it hoping they will get their act together on synchronization and because they tout each new release as new and improved in that area, it seems to be that the same old problems persist. 11/22/2015 update: Version 2.0.0 quits unexpectedly when trying to access preferences. App still crashes on iOS devices since I turned off iCloud. Very frustrating….
Originally purchased for use on a single MAC. Loved the high grade encryption, simplicity, ease of use, and the ability to import images/documents/etc. With iCloud and Dropbox upgrades I bought 5 more licenses for 2 other MACS and 3 mobile devices (iPhone/iPad). It was advertised as synchronizing entries seamlessly across all devices. Unfortunately just did not happen on iCloud and company recommended using Dropbox. Unfortunately, this did not work either, missing entries, overwrites, entries often doubled, and no timedate stamp to manually fix. Worked with technical support - ineffectual. Still holding on but unlikely to continue to use and looking for a password manager that offers the security and the seamless synchronization that is needed for multiple devices. Too bad - really thought this was going to be useful but just never know what is the latest username / password version and the duplication requires a lot of time to analyze and fix. Would much prefer to see them fix it but I’m not sure they are able to do this.
I’ve used OneSafe for a number of years, but when they created this new version, it is now unusable. On my MacBook Pro and iMac (both running OX 10.11.1), the program uses over 93% of cpu. Any selection takes 30-50 seconds to complete and if Preferences are selected the program crashes. I have sent several support emails with no response. No response to support issues is the biggest concern for me. Fortunately I was able to get the program to run long enough to create a text file of my data so I can import it into 1Password.
Been using this app for years now and really like it. It seems to work OK on iOS devices but the Mac version since the update (2.0.0) really makes it hard to use. The three major issues after the latest update that I (seems like others too) are experiencing are: 1. Added the iCloud kit with no instructions and I’ll be gratefull if it would sync with iCloud now. Never had this issue before now I can’t sync with iCloud, have to do it from my iOS device. 2. The app has become extremely slow. Click on the first character of the pin code and wait 30 seconds just to enter you pin and for the spinning beach ball to stop. It’s like this for scrolling, selecting and anything you click on. The old version was just fine for syncing and speed. Really messed up the new version. 3. The app now places an icon on the menu bar to start from there and it runs in the background. I personally don’t like anything running on the menu bar except for the nessary items from the operating system. The menu bar icon can be disabled but why add this, it’s not necessary??? I am using the app on the new 12” MacBook (2015) just released with 8 GB RAM and 512 GB Memory, so my computer is not the issue and I have no other problems with other apps. This frustration has forced me to move all my info to 1 Password which is super fast and syncs with iCloud flawlessly. No force syncing, no crashes etc. This is a good app if it works and can sync with iCloud like it’s supposed to. I will keep using 1 Password until the above can be corrected or I may just stay with 1 Password.
This was a great app and would have given it 4-5 stars until I got the updated version using CloudKit on my Mac. (This app still is great for my iPhone -therefore the 3 stars, but to make this work for me, I need it also to work on my Mac - so only 2 stars for the Mac). I have been using DropBox, and though I have had some minor issues with synchronization, (as have other people using either iCloud or DropBox it seems, from the comments below), it has always reset itself correctly. Now after setting up the new icon on the action bar, oneSafe locks up at every keystroke for 60-90 seconds, even preventing my computer from working very well outside of the app - it seems to be clogging up the entire computer and slowing everything down. I also cannot log onto a website directly from oneSafe as I had previous to this update/change. I have tried to get help from the help desk to see if they could provide me with answers/help/corrective actions - anything! After 2 or 3 pleas for instructions and no response, I realize I am on my own. I also have tried to find information and instructions to work with CloudKit, and switch from Dropbox if necessary, but can only find things relating to developers. Perhaps one needs to be more computer savvy than I am to use oneSafe.
I’ve finally had it with oneSafe. I hoped the recent update that included a much wanted Safari extension would address all my issues. Nope. Instead, it’s slow as a slug and that’s when it doesn’t crash. I know the hip design make it look otherwise but oneSafe is cumbersome compared to the less pretty Lastpass, which I was using previously. I foolishly purchased the oneSafe OS X app after getting the iOS app for free from Starbucks. May as well have lit $20 on fire. I contacted the developers regarding the issues. Maybe assure me it was being worked so I could stomach oneSafe’s use. Well, that was a week ago and even though they state they’ll usually reply within 36 hours, nothing. Forget this junk. Maybe I’ll crawl back to Lastpass or give Keychain a try.
Epic Fail
This app in the previous version was great. The upgrade version is so slow it’s not functional. Buy this only if you enjoy frustration.
Stil Unusable!
V2 crashes upon opening Preferences pane, will not sync with iCloud. This update still doesn’t fix the issues and the application remains unusable.
Keeps crashing on Preference Pane
I keep trying to export a copy of my passwords to keep a backup, but the software keeps crashing! Whats going on?
I bought the Mac version of this app. With the last update (2.0.015, I think), it crashed as soon as I entered my passcode. With version 2.0.117, they appear to have fixed it. So now I’m back to liking this app again. I never received a response from the support people after 5 or 6 attempts. But now it works.
Revised review 12/13/15: Since the new update the app fails to sync with iPad/iPod Touch (which do sync with each other via iCloud). Mac app crashes when I try to open preferences to see what the sync settings are. They did fix whatever was causing crashes when I tried to revise cards. 3 messages to Lunabee customer service over about 2 weeks I have gotten NO RESPONSE. They could at least say they know there is a problem and they are working on it. I am using Onesafe on my Macbook Air, my iPad and my iPod Touch, syncing through iCloud Drive. I haven’t had any problems syncing. When I wanted to switch from Dropbox to iCloud Drive customer service was helpful in making sure the process went smoothly. I like the variety of cards faces that are available and being able to schedule automatic backups to my computer. It’s a great app for storing password and information that I want to keep secure.
This latest version 2.0.117 is unusable. Crashes on preferences and won’t sync. Support is un-reachable and apparently non-existent. I have sent multiple emails, all go ignored. What happened to these guys? OneSafe used to be great. Certainly would expect more from a paid app.
Used to work great, not now
won’t sync, can’t update logos, and crashes whenever you go to preferences. Fix This!!!
Can’t Update
It says you can’t not open the App during the instalation and the App is closed, and it cant download the new version
I can’t download
Why can’t I download the new update? It contines to say “It can’t be opened during update” but the app is not open!! What is going on here?
New update does not allow icons
Since i did the update I cnnot get the icons when creating a new item I have sent 3 emails and have recieved no reply
